China Condemns Attack On The Cricket Team In Sri Lanka In Pakistan
BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) – China has strongly condemned the Wednesday terrorist attack that targeted Tuesday cricket team in Sri Lanka in Pakistan.
The spokesman of Chinese Foreign Ministry Qin Gang said in a statement that the Chinese government expresses its deep condolences for the victims and his sympathy for the wounded.
He made the condemnation in response to the question on China’s position vis-à-vis the terrorist attack that left at least 7 dead.
Several members of the cricket team in Sri Lanka were wounded Tuesday in an attack that occurred in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore. The Special Envoy of the President of Sri Lanka, the Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs Rohitha Bogollagama, arrived in Islamabad Wednesday to deal with the consequences of the tragedy.
According to reports, he met with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousaf Raza Gillani, as well as other senior officials to discuss the investigation into the terrorist attack
