Attack at a Kurdish funeral in Jaloula, northeast of Baghdad: At least 23 dead

A suicide bomber Monday at a Kurdish funeral in Jaloula northeast of Baghdad left at least 23 dead and 34 wounded, according to the security office of the province.

A member of the security commission of the province, Amir Rifaat, reported on its side of 24 dead and 28 wounded.

The suicide bomber detonated his charge in the tent where the ceremony took place. Earlier Monday, an explosion had eight dead and ten wounded in the region and Nasir Salam, about thirty kilometers west of Abu Ghraib.

The violence then qu’Abdullah interviennent Gul arrived Monday in Iraq for the first visit by a Turkish president since 1976.
